Where to begin
by Julie McGeer
You asked me to tell you the things I have buried
deep inside this house
better yet... I show you
la da da da, la da da, la da da da
Come a little closer…
Take my hand we'll slide
echo ranting down the stair
drawers of clothes and garment scissors flying through the air
yes I show you
la da da da, la da da, la da da da
... life aint fair.
how a chain of pine cone coo coo climb couldn't take his weight
a mash of pea pork chops tabled
better not be late
for the pacing broken birdie bleeds a swollen vodka head
just ignore him dear was all she ever said.
yes I'll show you
la da da da, la da da, la da da da
...what she never said.
a mismatched melmac mountain plug
left overflowing sink
while the Sticky Finger screaming
so we don't need to think
Sag the chair he chooses
to carry across the war
the life he wins and loses
spoils him to the core
yes I will show you
la da da da, la da da, la da da da
..spoiled to the core.
a shaggy den of oily eyes follows him from the frame
through parachute malfunction his Lancaster jump of shame
He's in the shoot they'd whisper
He hides between the floors
for hours dreaming in animal cracks on cupboard doors
The traps below were empty spent a corset ago
He’s a sauna of prickling fir board,
forced air of fuzzy pink glow
Yes I”ll show you
la da da da, la da da, la da da da
...his fuzzy pink glow.
There's freedom in this chaos
a wealth of rooms to hide
so join our party favour cracking punching bag inside
the doors and windows broken open
you can come and go
leave your jacket on
Take it very slow.
Yes I'll show you
la da da da, la da da, la da da da
Take it very slow.
Yes I'll show you
La da da da, la da da, la da da da
How to take it very slow
Yes I'll show you
la da da da, la da da, la da da da,
How to take it very slow.

Misty Boat
I'm calling for you darling, can't you hear me calling,
wound round the lure of your, (line)
aching for you baby, shaking for you baby,
come give me some sort of, (sign)
A trouble is brewing, in your pot I'm stewing,
goodness it's been far too, (long)
The story's is a singing, in your heart I'm bringing,
out my very best love song.
I'm lonely for you honey, only for you honey,
tugging me morning and, (night)
imaginations teeming, eyes are bound for streaming,
you're no where near my, (sight)
A world away, a world away,
what more can I do,
but write a song, it's be too long
I'm calling, calling for you.
bridge
I'm calling for you..
Fallen for you sweetie, fallen for you sweetie,
thinking this too shall, (pass)
but here I sit a writing, cause for you I'm wishing,
wishes never….. last,
like love, never last,
like love, never last like love, never last like love..
I'm falling for you.

Here You Are Again©

Here you are again
by Julie McGeer
No moon sun, diamond hand, gauze sea dot ray
pine green, pink glass eye mine, mother mud river decay
Here you are again, in my head, you
Boards on the doors, boards on the panes, boards in my head, boards in my dreams, private says the sign, a property claim so quiet my trespassers, I think I've found a way....
cause here you are again, in my head, you
cause here you are again in my head, you
Hang me from your rafter, hang me till I'm free, hang me til there's nothing left but swollen plank debris,
Nailing with eviction, a corner mattress fool
while the wild nettle lion’s cracking empty pool.
What once was....
Snake a ladder dice, running hole with the mice, abandon in the cupboard of can, skitter edge tomb, too late, too soon.
Buried tractor rust, boundary buyer lust, in the tall grass, broken sharp glass,
field of plenty, field of trust, now a glove on a stick in the distant dust.
What once was, what once was, what once was.
cause here again, in my head, you,
Here you are... impossible
Here you are again in my head you
with a fracturing heart, we are blocking all the
drains
while the street buckets march through drowning pockets rains
last green pin we're holding ourselves in
to everything floating flat barrow or already gone
gone gone gone gone gone, long gone.
Here you are again, in my head, you
Here you are... impossible
Here you are again, in my head you.
Here you are ..impossible.
punctured chamber seeping flavour
bleeds a tom cats teasing pounce.
and we've never really shared, never really shared, more than an ounce
I am freshly cut, lower my body to the floor, in you I am gone, I am gone
I am gone.

The Tare
by Julie McGeer
ooo
I’m barely reaching you, and you like it that way
I’m hardly letting on here , are you following?
with a look you can’t forget, a reaching hand
a hold on stage a burning page
are you listening
tear the tare, tear it apart with your bare hands and your heart, tear it apart, tear it apart
tear the tare, tare it apart with your bare hands and your heart, tear it apart, tare it apart
ooo
ooo
Is this just a dream, the feeling here
never to be, to be seen
I am standing in your home ..the feeling here
I am standing in your home, feeling here.
tear the tare, tare it apart with your bare hands and your heart, tear it apart, tear it apart.
tear the tare, tare it apart with your bare hands and your heart, tear it apart, tear it apart

Come to Me
by Julie McGeer
Dark place, hide, hold onto this.
Home gone,
grace,
carry this song.
into the finch and flicker
starling wing on
satin leaf
in wild grass wine darling
Into the web raindrop
on gathering pine
a bubbling throat
silver speckled line
Losing shape in dangerous tides,
caught in the undertow of our time.
Hopes and broken hearts
afloat in fears and full of tears for a better life,
not a bitter life.
Closer I am talking,
out the door I’m walking.
I'm not alone, not alone.
Eclipsed by your moon raven eyes.
Bound to a mountain of lies.
Burned by your green paper sun,
this Mother’s rise has begun.
This Mother’s rise has begun.
The time has come.
We are undone.
We have begun,
to act as one.
Losing shape in dangerous tides,
caught in the undertow of our time
